Design Process
My clients represent a diverse group of people, with a broad range of needs for outdoor living. Some are empty-nesters, some have physical disabilities, others are young families, others business people who travel extensively. Their properties range in value anywhere from the $100K’s to over $2 million. Some properties are new construction, while others are much older homes.
Each client is unique, as is their home; and Landpoetry Creations' design process addresses their individual needs and personalities as well as the individual character of the location.
To be certain the final design reflects the client’s needs, we work through several basic steps, at each point evaluating the relationships between design and client's needs:
PROCESS:
1) Telephone Conversation to briefly discuss your project and schedule a design meeting.
2) Initial Consultation to learn more about the client’s tastes, tour the property, and discuss possibilities for the outdoor living areas. After there is a clear understanding of the extent of the design needs, the fee for the landscape design process is discussed. If the client engages in design services at this time, there is no charge for this initial consultation.
3) Follow Up Visit, after engaging in design services, to document several aspects of the property, including important views and existing structures and landscaping that may impact the design. This step helps create the base plan upon which design concepts may be explored.
4) Design Presentation Meeting with the client at their residence, upon completing the basic landscape concept(s).
5) Follow up Meeting with the client to review a final design, should there be any need for revisions.
After we have a plan we believe reflects the client’s needs for outdoor living, we then discuss how the client may proceed to build the landscape. Some clients prefer to do so on their own, while others prefer to have the work completed by a professional landscape company.
Throughout the construction process, I may work with the client as an on-site consultant, to observe aspects of the work in progress; and when construction has been completed, I meet with the client to walk through the project to and discuss how the final results meet their expectations.
